Our Partnerships

“I believe there is a role for more varied businesses to support sportswomen. I am keen to encourage other female led brands in sponsoring sport as I believe this will create a trickledown effect, encouraging more women to get involved in many and varied capacities….and provide a wider range and product choice to interest the rapidly growing demographic of female sporting fans”

PETROLHEAD & Jo Polley:
Racing Driver and Perfume Ambassador

In 2019 Jo Polley became our PETROLHEAD Perfume ambassador, and in Feb 2023 we have agreed to continue into our 5th consecutive year with this fun and exciting partnership.

Jo races in the Mini 7 Championships.

She continues in her blue Mini for 2023. She started driving a pink Mini 7 S Class then swapped to a blue Mini 7 in 2021 . We have loved both incarnations so far and have thoroughly enjoyed watching her at the races . Jo is hoping to go even better than her successful campaign last year where she managed to finish P4 in the Championships and was awarded The Most Improved Driver. A brilliant result.

We met when she had just won the Gold Star Award from the British WomensRacing Drivers Club. BYKATHRYN has been a sponsor of these awards for the last 5 years presenting PETROLHEAD perfume and other gifts as some of the prizes.

Jo immediately identified with BYKATHRYN and what the PETROLHEAD perfume vibe was all about.

I had described the vibe to her as ‘You don’t have to be a car fanatic to love Petrolhead. You are high octane and seek adrenaline, excitement and glamour. You know your own mind and don’t abide by stereotypes. You push boundaries, set no limits and are fearless. You don’t take life too seriously and have a great sense of humour. And above all, you write your own rules’.

Jo said: “There couldn’t be a more fitting description of me and what I do! Teaming up with BYKATHRYN is set to be a fun and inspiring partnership; we share the same values and goals and I am delighted to welcome BYKATHRYN on board. I genuinely love the PETROLHEAD scent. It smells amazing, so I am really excited to promote such a great brand and a product that I really enjoy using myself.”

During the last few years we have seen a huge rise in the profile of women drivers in motorsport and I am proud and excited to be part of that.

Jo is a fantastic ambassador and a masterclass in grit, determination and humour, along with her glamour and style!

PADSTOW ROCKS & Surfing England:
Official Olympic Journey Sponsor

Surfing England partnered with PADSTOW ROCKS Perfume in September 2019. It was supposed to end after the 2020 Olympics but as we know the Olympic journey continued into 2021 as did our partnership.

The roots of our partnership had humble beginnings and started because, watching the BBC News one day, I was surprised to learn that Surfing England surfers are currently unfunded. And in 2020 Surfing was making its debut as an Olympic sport. Exciting times!

With a passion for supporting females in sport, a motivation to inspire the next generation and a desire to support some of the top women in surfing, I got in touch and things quickly fell into place. As an Olympic Journey Sponsor, this partnership allowed us to come together and support some of Team England’s top female athletes who compete as part of the British Surfing team, their eyes firmly set on 2020 Olympic qualification. The partnership set out to make a real difference to these surfers by offering travel & training opportunities.

Traditionally there aren’t many female led or focused brands that back sport and this can be quite alienating to some women. With more and more women watching sport as well as getting involved, it seemed to me that not only do sportswomen need the funding, but I wanted to provide something for women as spectators too, that shows you can do sport and be feminine. The opportunity to support the Team England surfers in the British Women’s Surfing team was therefore absolutely perfect.

Surfing England’s Hannah said of the partnership: “We are so excited by this new partnership – BYKATHRYN will enable some brilliant opportunities for our elite level female surfers & the effects will be significant in inspiring the next generation of girls coming through the ranks.”

Our partnership saw some wonderful competition and the Surfing England women competing on the word stage. Team GB didn’t make the Olympics this year as places were limited due the the Exhibition nature of surfing in 2022, but the groundwork was laid for the future. The future of surfing in England is very bright thanks to Surfing England’s efforts and we loved being part of that in the inaugural Olympics year(s).
